Chappell Schools is a family-owned preschool established in 1958 and has been described as a local favorite in North Florida since that time. The program uses a multi-sensory developmental approach to early childhood education and states that its primary goal is to promote a safe, child-oriented space where exploration, discovery, and creativity are part of daily routines, with an emphasis on self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-esteem. As part of enrollment, each family receives a complete orientation to the school and to the child’s specific classroom and teacher.

Chappell Schools serves the Greater Jacksonville area with seven childcare centers, including locations at San Marco, Deerwood, and several FSCJ campuses. The program describes its environments as wholesome and focused on rich learning opportunities for all ages at these seven locations.

The school’s leadership team includes Chantal Riley (Director, Chappell Schools Deerwood), Tiffiney Brown (Director, Chappell FSCJ Downtown Campus), Khristina Pike (Director, Chappell FSCJ Kent Campus), Kaneisha Hall (Director, Chappell FSCJ North Campus), Shianti Oliver (Director, Chappell FSCJ South Campus), and Latroya Barnes-Drake (Director, Chappell Schools San Marco).

Families have noted in testimonials that teachers listen to children and teach them as if they were their own, that staff show compassion and care, and that some locations offer cameras to view classrooms and playgrounds along with photos and updates through an app. One parent described a Celebration of Nations event as an interactive cultural experience where families could connect with staff and see VPK students perform. Multiple reviewers reported that their children enjoy attending, have formed friendships, and that they would recommend Chappell Schools to others.
