Maria Verdeja School of the Arts has been training performers since 1987 and has been dedicated to excellence in dance education for over 35 years, with a commitment to excellence in dance training for almost 40 years. The school is led by Maria Verdeja. Its mission states that it is dedicated to nurturing well-rounded performers to reach their highest potential, with a strong emphasis on enriching students with a sense of confidence, and that it views dance as a transformative medium for personal growth and self-expression.

MVSA Studios offers competitive teams (Team MVSA) grouped by age, levels, style, and studio location, including a Prima Team dedicated to ballet and classical styles and a Musical Theatre/Voice Team. Team training requirements listed include a minimum of 2 hours of ballet per week, 3–8 hours of in-class training per week, 2–6 hours of rehearsal per week, MVSA holiday performances, the MVSA End of Year Performance, 3 to 4 regional competitions, a dance convention, and 1 national competition in the summer. MVSA Teams represent the school in the competitive circuit and receive performance opportunities across the community, and the competitive teams bring home National Titles, First Place Wins, Top Scores, and Special Awards across all dance forms, levels, and ages.

The studios are described as a second home for staff and dancers, and more than 10,000 students have attended over the decades, with some students going on to professional careers in the arts and broadcasting. A free trial is available, and families have access to a parent portal. Hair must always be neatly slicked back in a bun for all classes, and no jewelry is to be worn during any classes or performances. One testimonial from Maria Verdeja states, “Optimism, self-esteem, discipline and confidence - this Is what I have always wanted for my own students.”
