Baby Otter Swim School uses the proprietary, state-certified Turn, Kick, Reach® method, and its curriculum is certified in Florida. The Turn, Kick, Reach® program was developed over five decades ago, has been successfully teaching children for over forty-three years, and is trusted by Florida families for over 50 years. The program is described as Florida’s leading mobile swim school and as “Baby Otter® THE WORLD’S FASTEST LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM®,” and is noted as being trusted by more than 30,000 families with over 50 years of swim safety training.

Every Baby Otter swim instructor is state-certified, and Baby Otter has decades of experience in the adaptive aquatic industry. The team is trained to work with children who have autism, Down syndrome, and sensory processing challenges, and Baby Otter specializes in every type of swim safety, including training those with special needs. Coach Daniella is a certified Baby Otter® swim instructor serving families throughout Miami and surrounding areas. Co-founders Marlene Bloom and Mindy York have been working with this program together for 50 years, and Baby Otter utilizes proprietary Turn, Kick, Reach® systems developed by its founders. Marlene Bloom holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s degree in Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

Baby Otter Swim School states that its goal is not only to teach a life-saving skill but also to show children and adults that swimming can be great fun. The school’s mission includes dramatically decreasing drowning statistics and empowering every student with life-saving water skills starting from lesson one. The founders describe a life-long mission and state that they are proud to be saving lives.

The program offers flexible scheduling with morning, afternoon, or weekend sessions and emphasizes that there are no floaties and no drawn-out lesson plans. It provides programs for infants (crawling age and up), toddlers, children, teens, adults, and individuals with special needs, and Beginning Strokes Levels 1–3 build on the Turn, Kick, Reach® foundation. Lessons are offered in a familiar pool setting, and the program notes that all pools are different and that learning in a familiar setting can create a better experience for both child and parent.

Baby Otter Swim School also runs a Pop-up Swim School Program across the U.S. with 5 consecutive days of instruction, available for ages 9 months to adults, and it is described as perfect for groups with a minimum of 12 students, with instructor travel and accommodations arranged as part of the program.
