Adrienne Arsht Center Education & Community Engagement Programs are part of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and include events and learning experiences connected to performances in venues such as the Ziff Ballet Opera House and Knight Concert Hall. The programs include more than 100 culturally diverse learning experiences for 80,000 children every year and free annual events such as Gospel Fest Miami, Art + Mind Day, Heritage Fest and an LGBTQ+ Pride celebration.

Since opening in 2006 in the heart of downtown, the Arsht has served as the cultural pulse of Miami. The organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that has been recognized as a leader in Miami’s cultural transformation and produces more than 400 annual events that generate 11,500 local jobs and $125 million in economic impact. It is home to touring Broadway musicals, jazz and classical music concerts curated for South Florida, a Miami-based theater program, and numerous historic and televised events. The mission of the Education & Community Engagement Programs is to engage and connect people from every corner of the community through artistic excellence and educational experiences. The leadership team includes President and CEO Johann Zietsman; Executive Producer & Dorothea Green Chair of Education & Community Engagement Jairo Ontiveros; Senior Director, Education and Community Engagement Jenita Nakamura; Director of Education Jacqueline Jove; Manager, Education Yusnavi Machado; Manager, Community Engagement Carla Moreno; and Education and Community Engagement Coordinator Sara Lizarazu. The Arsht’s community involvement includes free community events that reflect Miami’s identity, free annual events such as Gospel Fest Miami, Art + Mind Day, Heritage Fest and an LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, and ongoing reverence for nearby historically Black communities, including Overtown.
