Cushman Summer Programs include a wide range of options such as CAD Sports Camp with soccer/futsal, cheer/dance, tennis, basketball, volleyball, flag football, and all-sports activities, as well as a Summer Fun Camp with STEAM projects, arts and crafts, music, theater, sports and movement activities, above-ground pools, and water slides. The Cushman Summer Music Camp focuses on music through hands-on learning, creativity, collaboration, and performance, and academic offerings include Virtual Classes for credit, Summer Studies on campus, and an Algebra Bootcamp and Geometry Bootcamp.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: CAD Sports Camp and Cougar Training Camp run in weekly sessions in June and July with half-day (9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) and full-day (9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.) options; Summer Fun Camp runs June 15–July 31 with full-day (9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.) and half-day (12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.) options plus before and after care; Summer Music Camp runs June 8–July 18 in two weekly sessions with separate morning and afternoon time blocks by grade; Virtual Classes for credit run June 15–August 7 over 8 weeks; Summer Studies on campus run June 15–July 3 over 4 weeks; Algebra Bootcamp runs June 16–July 3, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m.
• Price: CAD Sports Camp full day is $500 per week and half day is $310 per week; Cougar Training Camp is $310 per week; Summer Fun Camp full day is $500 per week and half day is $310 per week; Summer Music Camp for grades 2–5 is $495 for Week 1 and $400 for Week 2, and for grades 6–12 is $450 for Week 1 and $360 for Week 2; Virtual Classes for credit are $3,800 per course; Algebra Bootcamp is $850.
CAD Sports Camp is led by experienced coaches, offers a weekly “Water day,” and provides a daily snack, with the option in weeks 2 through 6 to transfer to Summer Fun Camp for an additional cost. Cougar Training Camp is taught by Cushman Cougar coaches, includes a healthy snack and a camp shirt, and asks campers to bring a water bottle each day, and students in grades 6–12 can apply for service hours by helping in the morning camp while attending Cougar Training Camp in the afternoon. Summer Fun Camp is led by seasoned educators from The Cushman School and includes weekly STEAM sessions exploring science, technology, engineering, art, and math along with water play in above-ground pools and on water slides.
The Cushman Summer Music Camp is led by Grammy Award-winning musician and Cushman educator Gene Paul Gayol, along with fellow award-winning musicians and Cushman educators. Virtual Classes for credit are open to both Cushman and non-Cushman students and include full-year high school credit courses in math, English, college prep, and world languages with 6 hours of live virtual instruction per week. Summer Studies on campus offers small group, supplemental, non-credit courses focused on academic support and skill-building.
The Cushman School is the oldest, continuously operating, co-ed pre-kindergarten through grade 12, college preparatory, private school in Miami, Florida, and began in 1924 when Dr. Laura Cushman started a school on the front porch of her house. The school reports a 1:8 teacher–student ratio, an average class size of 16, 60 clubs and sports, 31 Advanced Placement courses, 100 years of operation, 100% of the Class of 2026 accepted to college, and $7 million in merit scholarships awarded to the Class of 2026.
