DanceArts Miami offers a wide range of dance and movement classes, including Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Afrobeats, Ballet, HipHop, Swing, International Ballroom & Latin, American Smooth & Rhythm, Argentine Tango, Bollywood, Heels, Club Latin, Burlesque, Contemporary, Street Jazz, Broadway Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Tap, Salsa Femme, Flamenco, Reggaeton, Jazz, Hip-hop, Contemporary dance, Breaking, Aerial dance, Gymnastics, and Musical theater. The program also offers GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS®, and Pilates, as well as wedding dance lessons. Studio rentals are available, and classes are offered as both group and private lessons.
• Schedule: Open daily for dance lessons from 12pm to 10pm, with Sunday available by appointment; classes available 12:30pm–10pm daily and studio rentals from 9am
• Price: Group Class: 2 weeks unlimited for $49. Private Class: Intro lesson in any style for $55.
DanceArts Miami is a multi-purpose, state-of-the-art dance studio founded by seasoned professionals with extensive experience in the performing arts. The studio’s mission states that it is dedicated to inspiring individuals of all ages and backgrounds to unleash their creativity through movement.
The leadership team includes Dmitry Krasnyanskiy, who began ballroom dancing at age seven, has competed in over 100 national and international competitions, was a Russian Championship finalist and World Championship competitor, and holds titles such as 2003 International Dance Union World Champion, 2004 Vice World Champion, and Fred Astaire Top Teacher Award, along with multiple Pro-Am titles with his students; he competes internationally in the American Ballroom Smooth style. Esther Francés trained in classical ballet and piano for over 20 years, holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Miami, is a professional Ballroom and Latin dance competitor, instructor, and choreographer, has over 19 years of teaching experience, and has earned the 2019 American Smooth title at Ballroom Raymi and the 2018 American Rhythm title in Venice, Italy.
The teaching staff includes Napoleon Hugues, a professional dancer, choreographer, and instructor who teaches and coaches students in all Ballroom, Latin and Rhythm dances as well as Argentine Tango, started dance at age 5 in Haiti, began formal ballroom training in 1997, won 1st place in the AJFH 2007 competition in Latin Dance, and has training in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, folklore, and contemporary. Luis “Shock” Rodriguez is a breakdancer and instructor with a strong foundation in breaking and street dance culture. Steven Aportela is a choreographer and instructor who specializes in contemporary and jazz dance. Sandra Acosta has over 18 years of experience as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and performer, and specializes in jazz and ballet technique, gymnastics, Latin styles such as salsa and bachata, and aerial dance, and has completed a degree in physical education and sports training in Mexico. Teresa Garcia is a professional dancer, choreographer, and instructor from Lima, Peru, who became New York Salsa Champion at 19, trained in ballroom under Maksim Chmerkovskiy, taught at his studios for over seven years, completed the professional training program at Broadway Dance Center and later became an instructor there, and has performed alongside Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, Maluma, and Daddy Yankee, as well as serving as principal dancer and choreographer on Univision's Mira Quién Baila. Dantrielle Divine is a professional dancer, choreographer, and instructor with extensive experience performing in large-scale theatrical productions in Las Vegas and specializes in Afrobeats and Hip Hop. Monica Llobet is a three-time World Argentine Tango Champion, founder of Alma de Tango, has hosted events at venues such as the Ritz-Carlton and Biltmore Hotel, teaches private lessons and group classes, and has worked with tango legends Jorge Torres and Osvaldo Zotto. Jorge Avila is a Peruvian professional dancer, choreographer, and instructor with over 10 years of experience, trained at Ballet Municipal of Trujillo, Ballet Nacional del Perú, and Dactilares Contemporary Dance School, with a career spanning ballet, contemporary, Latin, hip-hop, and commercial dance.
Community involvement connected to the program includes Esther Francés creating dance programs for Alzheimer’s patients, working with children through charitable organizations, and serving on the Young Professionals Board of the Nomi Network. Monica Llobet has built a tango community in South Florida and has hosted signature annual Milongas and international tango excursions that contribute to the local dance culture.
