Miami EcoAdventures

Miami EcoAdventures offers nature camps for kids, kayaking, boat cruises, canoeing, fishing, archery, hike and night programming, biking, group camping, and educational programs. The program also includes volunteer or internship opportunities.

Programs

• Nature Camps — Kids · Kids can learn about the environment and local ecosystems at nature camps around the community.
• Kayaking — Explore various waterways aboard a kayak.
• Boat Cruise — Cruise the South Florida waterways on the Parks Explorer catamaran, see the sunset over Biscayne Bay or take a plunge and snorkel the Half Moon Shipwreck.
• Canoeing — Visit a mangrove forest at Matheson Hammock, take a step back in history on the Coral Gables Waterway or visit the coastal habitats of the Oleta River.
• Fishing — Learn the fundamentals of fishing.
• Archery — A general introduction to archery and its benefits.
• Hike and Night Programming — From day programming to nighttime hikes, there’s always something new to discover.
• Biking — Pedal through some of the most scenic bike routes in Miami while taking in history and views.
• Group Camping — Primitive overnight group camping for families, friends and scout groups.
• Educational Programs — Wildlife and science education programs that can take place at your school or at one of five nature centers.

• General schedule: Year-round park and recreation programs; camps are held in the spring and summer during public school breaks; after-school activities focus on fitness, nutrition and wellness, and developing an appreciation of nature, science and the cultural arts.

About the provider

Miami EcoAdventures says its mission is to promote and enhance the knowledge, understanding, appreciation, and protection of natural resources through quality hands-on interpretive programs. Its programs work with public schools, civic organizations, parochial and independent schools, corporations, boy and girl scouts, special events, after-school programs, libraries, and homeschool groups.
