The Miami Lighthouse Blind Soccer Program includes Blind Soccer and Bouldering for Blindness, a unique rock-climbing experience in low-light conditions at The Edge Rock Gym. The program uses a comprehensive Blind Soccer Program and also offers the Bouldering for Blindness rock-climbing experience in low-light conditions.

Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired states that its mission is to provide hope, confidence, and independence to people of all ages through education, training, research and vision enhancement. The organization lists a leadership team that includes Virginia A. Jacko, President & Chief Executive Officer; Richard Fernandez, Chief Financial Officer; Carol Brady-Simmons, Chief Program Officer; Mara Gonzalez, Miami Lighthouse Academy Director; and Ariel Sanchez, Director of Facilities & Transportation. Miami Lighthouse has been continuously accredited by the National Accreditation Council For Blind and Low Vision Services (NAC) since 1978 and by The Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) since 2017, and its Learning Center for Children is a Florida gold seal and nationally Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment (APPLE). Miami Lighthouse for the Blind has earned 14 consecutive 4-star ratings from Charity Navigator and has completed all four of the Charity Navigator Encompass Beacons as of June 3, 2024. The organization has received multiple recognitions, including the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce 2023 Nonprofit Business Innovative Excellence NOVO Award, the Early Intervention Blind Babies Program being named the Children’s Trust 2016 Program of the Year, and the 2020 award for “Best in Nonprofit” campaign by PRWeek, along with several other community and nonprofit awards. Community involvement related to Miami Lighthouse includes a Blind Soccer Grant Activation at the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind campus mini pitch supported by Roborock, the FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee, and community partners, the Bouldering for Blindness event on April 19, 2026 at The Edge Rock Gym, strategic partnership with ABLE United, and partnerships and support activities with the Marlins Foundation, Major League Baseball All-Star Game Legacy program, and the Florida Heiken Children’s Vision Program.
