Family Martial Arts Center has been teaching martial arts since 1995. The leadership team includes Master Wayne, Miss Sue, and Miss Bobby. The mission of the program is to provide top quality martial arts training, with a focus on life skills, confidence, and growth for the entire family, and to help men, women, and children become the best they can be. The Preschool Martial Arts program introduces children ages 4 to 6 to martial arts in a fun, safe, and supportive environment, and the Little Ninja classes are offered for 4, 5, and 6 year olds. The Kids Martial Arts program focuses on building focus, confidence, and respect through fun, structured training, and the Family Martial Arts program offers parents and children the chance to train side by side. The Advanced Martial Arts program offers motivated students the chance to work on advanced techniques, fitness, and leadership skills, and the Elite Martial Arts program challenges students to train harder and aim higher. The summer program includes an array of activities with field trips almost daily, in a space that emphasizes discipline and respect while kids socialize and have fun. The program states that classes give children exercise, build strong core values, and connect them with friends and mentors, and that students learn self-defense skills and anti-bullying tips while developing focus, respect, discipline, self-esteem, and responsibility.
One parent, Forlines F., describes Master Wayne as creating a family atmosphere, teaching respect and hard work, and shares that their daughter gained confidence and looked forward to every class. Another parent, Mel Lanier, reports that their daughter gained focus, self-control, and improved self-esteem, and that instructors show excellent skills and leadership. Vic DeVore notes that Master Wayne and the staff, including Miss Sue and Miss Bobby, show professionalism, knowledge, and discipline, and highlights the summer program with almost daily field trips and a focus on discipline and respect, giving the center a 5-star rating. Other parents, including Mike Suver, Joy Langley, and Joe Sciulli, describe a welcoming atmosphere, encouraging instructors, attention to character, and a fun but high-standard learning experience.
