Golden Gate Karate School offers martial arts and karate training with a focus on self defense. Classes include instruction in Tang Soo Do under the Mi Guk Kwan Federation and Soo Bahk Do Korean karate.

Golden Gate Karate School states that all students who enroll in its programs prepare themselves for a vast amount of real world scenarios to protect themselves and family members, while also learning discipline that will empower them to succeed in all things outside of martial arts. Programs include Tiny Turtles for ages 4–5, Rising Warriors for ages 6–7, Young Cranes for ages 8–12, and Teens & Adults for ages 13–18+. All activities require parent or guardian supervision for Tiny Turtles. The school offers programs the entire family will enjoy, with family membership programs that include special opportunities to work and learn together. The instructors have designed the program in an engaging and methodical way which teaches students discipline and socialization skills while also learning to become proficient and confident martial artists. The facilities are sanitized thoroughly and are described as always in pristine condition.

Kyo Sa Nim Raymond Sobel is the primary instructor of Golden Gate Karate School. All instructors are described as highly credible and having a lengthy martial arts background. Raymond Sobel’s achievements include Kyo Sa Nim (Mi Guk Kwan, Tang Soo Do), E Dan (Mi Guk Kwan, Tang Soo Do) – 2nd Degree, Jo Kyo Nim (Moo Duk Kwan, Soo Bahk Do – Dan Bon 51682) – 1st Degree, and Cho Dan Black Belt (Moo Duk Kwan, Soo Bahk Do – Dan Bon 51682). His competition results include a Silver Medal in Forms at the 2021 Soo Bahk Do Nationals, a Gold Medal in Forms and a Silver Medal in Fighting at the 2021 Neapolitan Tournament, and 1st Place in both Forms and Fighting at the 1988 Homestead Academy Tournament. His certificate Dan Number in Korea is Dan Bon 51682 and is inscribed in the Soo Bahk Do archives.

Kyo Sa Nim Raymond Sobel and Kyo Sa Derek train under 9th Degree Grandmaster Charles Ferraro and 6th Degree Master Michael Ramirez under the Mi Guk Kwan Federation. Derek Sobel is described as a natural born athlete currently attending Florida Gulf Coast University and pursuing a major in exercise science. He was awarded a scholarship to Warner University where he ran track and qualified for indoor and outdoor nationals as a true freshman. Derek joined Soo Bahk Do in 2021 where he trained with 4th Degree Master Rupert, placed 1st in forms in his first tournament “The Neapolitan,” partakes in a vigorous training regimen and trains for several hours a day, and serves as the full-time studio assistant instructor helping 2nd Degree Kyo Sa Nim Raymond Sobel.

In 1968, at the age of 12, Raymond Sobel trained with 7th Degree Master Koji Sugimoto in the Shotokan karate discipline. In 1986, with Gup number 33030, he trained with Master Johns, Master Hanke, Master Prior, and Grandmaster Hwang Kee. In 1989, Raymond was electrocuted with over 17,000 volts of electricity and was unable to train for 29 years. In 2017, he found Soo Bahk Do Korean karate and achieved his Cho Dan Black Belt level in 2019. In 2021, he was awarded the silver medal at the Soo Bahk Nationals and gold and silver medals at the Neapolitan tournament. He has opened his first karate school in Naples, Florida under Tang Soo Do, Mi Guk Kwan, named Golden Gate Karate School.
