Founded in 2007, Suncoast Stables and Riding Academy is described as a local full-service barn with a safe and supportive family-friendly environment for horseback riding and training. The program offers private 1:1 horseback riding lessons and horsemanship training for any skill level, with lessons available in Saddleseat, Dressage, Western, and Hunt Seat, and it specializes in American Saddlebreds, Morgans, Arabians, hackneys, and roadsters. The barn also offers top-notch boarding, specialized training, and leasing options, and its Horsemanship Summer Camps are divided by age groups, held rain or shine, and are described as a great way to stay active, make new friends, and enjoy being outside riding horses.
Krystle Lee is the Owner and Trainer at Suncoast Stables and Riding Academy, and she received her B.S. in Equestrian Science from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. The mission of Suncoast Stables and Riding Academy states that it teaches Tampa Bay to ride through private 1:1 lessons, emphasizing the respect and responsibility needed to make a successful horse and rider team. Proper riding attire is required, including long pants and closed toe hard-soled shoes, and ASTM F1163-15/SEI Certified helmets are available.
Suncoast Stables and Riding Academy is a past Reserve World Champion of the American Saddlebred Breed Ambassador and has won FSHPP Barn of the Year in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Krystle has been awarded Instructor of the Year by the Florida State High Point Program and 2024 UPHA Chapter 16 Horse Person of the Year. Suncoast Stables was featured on ABC News on the “Good Morning Odessa” segment as a place to try in the Tampa, FL area.
Parent and client feedback includes comments that a child has been attending horsemanship training for several years, enjoys training, competing, and learning about horse care, and now wants to turn this into a lifelong passion, and that the family boards three horses at the barn. Another client states that a boarded horse is receiving the best of care and that the horse is healthy and happy. A third client notes that all the clients at Suncoast Stables support each other's achievements and describes Krystle as fun, energetic, and positive, with an emphasis on proper care, respect, safety, and good horsemanship, and says they would not go anywhere else.
