Founded in 2007, the program is led by owner and trainer Krystle Lee, who holds a B.S. in Equestrian Science from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. The program offers weekly private 1:1 lessons, customized equine training programs, and horse show competition at all levels, with lessons available in Saddleseat, Dressage, Western, and Hunt Seat. It is a full-service barn that provides top-notch boarding and specialized training, assistance finding a horse that complements a rider’s style and budget, and leasing options, and it specializes in American Saddlebreds, Morgans, Arabians, hackneys, and roadsters. All training is by appointment only, ASTM F1163-15/SEI Certified helmets are available, proper riding attire with long pants and closed toe hard-soled shoes is required, and participants must turn in a completed Client Application, Release Form, and Medical Form and arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled time; late arrivals cannot receive extended time. The barn states that it is a safe and supportive family-friendly environment for horseback riding and training and does not offer trail riding.

Suncoast Stables and Riding Academy has been recognized as FSHPP Barn of the Year in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and its leadership includes a past Reserve World Champion of the American Saddlebred Breed Ambassador. Krystle has been awarded Instructor of the Year by the Florida State High Point Program and named 2024 UPHA Chapter 16 Horse Person of the Year. FOX 13 produced a segment on Suncoast Stables Summer Camps, and the program was previously featured on ABC News on the “Good Morning Odessa” segment as a place to try in the Tampa, FL area.

Parent and client feedback includes comments that a child has been attending horsemanship training for several years and enjoys training, competing, and learning about horse care, and that this has become a lifelong passion (Aaron P.). Another client reports that a boarded horse is receiving the best of care and is healthy and happy, and highly recommends Suncoast Stables (Virginia G.). A third client notes that all the clients support each other’s achievements and describes Krystle as fun, energetic, and positive, with an emphasis on proper care, respect, safety, and good horsemanship, and states they would not go anywhere else (Beth A.).
