After School Zone & Summer Zone (Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida – Middle School Programs) offers daily academic enrichment, character leadership, and fun learning opportunities for middle school student members. The 16 Middle School Clubs provide these activities during the school year and all summer long to more than 6,500 Orange County students. The program also offers a place for students to spend time with friends and take part in exciting recreational activities.

• Schedule: Summer Zone runs Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., from June 1 to July 23
• Price: Summer Zone is FREE thanks to funding from the Orange County Government
The mission of Zone is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida After School Zone and Summer Zone are funded by a grant from the Orange County Government. The program requests that registered Summer Zone members attend at least 3 days per week, and this minimum 3-day weekly attendance is a condition to keep a spot in the summer program. Families can keep their registered summer spots during a one-week vacation when they give advance notice to the Site Coordinator, and exceptions to the attendance policy are made for illness-related quarantines when this is communicated to the Site Coordinator. A late fee of $1.00 per minute is charged if a child is picked up after hours of operation. The Middle School Programs leadership team includes Kelvin Curry (Director), Michelle Ramos (Assistant Director), Rachel Geib (Program Services Coordinator), and Laila Hamza, along with Site Coordinators at specific middle schools such as Apopka, Corner Lake, Freedom, Horizon West, Hunter’s Creek, Lakeview, Lockhart, Meadowbrook, Meadow Woods, Ocoee, Piedmont Lakes, Robinswood, South Creek, SunRidge, and Wolf Lake Middle Schools.
