Theatre South Playhouse offers professional productions, professional training shows, classes, and workshops. Young actors experience the theatrical process from auditions through the closing curtain. Classes are available to all ages and cater to all levels.

Theatre South Playhouse is led by Executive Director Hillary Brook. It was founded in 2009, and in 2016 Theatre South Orlando became a non-profit under the new name Theatre South Playhouse. Their space in the Marketplace at Dr. Phillips opened in 2016. The stage is named The Antoinette David Theater, dedicated to founding Board Member Antoinette David. The mission of Theatre South Playhouse is to nurture, challenge, and empower its artists and audience in order to inspire and educate the Southwest Orlando community, and to create a safe space for artists of all backgrounds to gather with the common goal of teaching the values of mutual respect for all. Theatre South Playhouse describes itself as a professional theater, academic conservatory, and community center for kids, teens, and adults, and it is home to many local Orlando artists. It has a committed diversity, equity, and inclusion mission. Theatre South Playhouse is funded in part by sponsors and partners, brings programming and training to underserved families, creates opportunities for underrepresented entrepreneurs, and aims to help create positive change in the world. The theater and studio spaces are accessible, with wheelchair and companion seating, restrooms with grab bars, and service animals are welcome. Theatre South Playhouse has been reviewed and certified.
