About
Youth Art Programs offers a wide range of hands-on art activities, including Make Your Own Glass, Hot Glass Classes, Pottery on the Wheel, Handbuilding & Sculpture, Painting and Drawing, Sewing, Flame-Working, Stained Glass Classes, and Glass Kilnforming. Make Your Own Glass is offered weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays as part of these programs.
• Schedule: Make Your Own Glass offered weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays; FCAC office hours are Monday–Thursday 9am–5pm and Friday 9am–4pm, with the campus open for classes outside of office hours.
First City Art Center states a mission of creating an active, dynamic, and exciting art destination and engaging the community by encouraging open participation in the creative processes of a working art center. The organization offers affordable programs for all ages and skill levels and maintains core values of leadership, integrity, accessibility, vitality, and collaboration. It serves over 10,000 adults and children each year, hosts a broad and expanding range of workshops, classes, events, exhibitions, field trips, and outreach programs, and offers scholarships for kids and teens, as well as afterschool programs, a Saturday art class, summer camp, and other activities. The center also hosts events that allow the community to engage in the creation, appreciation, and sharing of art and that promote artistic expression, cultural diversity, public service, and economic opportunities.
