About
Tampa YMCA Youth Sports offers basketball, cheerleading and dance, flag football, golf through First Tee Tampa Bay, gymnastics, martial arts, soccer, and volleyball. Youth basketball includes fundamentals, teamwork, good sportsmanship, weekly practices, and games. Flag football includes fundamentals, confidence building, working with others, and weekly practices and games, and junior guard is available for ages 13 and 14.
Programs
- Basketball — Youth basketball focuses on the fundamentals of the game, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Players make new friends and participate in weekly practices and games.
- Cheerleading & Dance — Youth cheerleading and dance programs are for kids in preschool through high school and focus on proper technique, building skills, choreography, cheers and self-confidence.
- Flag Football — Players learn the fundamentals of the game, build confidence, learn to work with others, and participate in weekly practices and games.
- Golf: First Tee Tampa Bay — The golf program uses the game to teach children values like confidence, perseverance, good judgment, goal setting, healthy lifestyle and sportsmanship.
- Gymnastics — Youth gymnastics coaches and instructors teach fundamentals and skills, while focusing on character values like patience and confidence.
- Martial Arts — Youth Martial Arts is offered for beginners through advanced skill levels.
- Soccer — Participants learn the fundamentals of soccer and teamwork in a fun environment, with weekly practices and games.
- Volleyball — Participants learn the fundamentals of volleyball and practice new skills as a team, with weekly practices and games throughout the season.
- Junior Guard — 13 and 14 · A leadership program for teens that teaches the skills required to earn a lifeguard certification and offers the opportunity to work in the Aquatics environment.
