Abadie Academy offers homeschool curriculum support in all subjects for grades K–8, as well as after-school math and reading tutoring. Students can take sessions that include math, ELA, history, science, photography, videography, art, gardening, science club, a running club for girls, and robotics. Sessions are 45 minutes in length, with up to four sessions available in a day.

Abadie Academy, Inc. is a nonprofit tutoring center. Homeschool curriculum support in all subjects for grades K–8 is provided by Florida Certified Teachers. The homeschool program has waitlist and application options, and community members who are passionate about a subject can teach it at the center. The program includes enrichment beyond the classroom, with active and creative twists on homeschool curriculum, and sessions that include photography, videography, art, and gardening in addition to core subjects. The program states that it never lets math homework bring stress into the home again.
The founder and director, Dr. Abadie, also teaches math. Dr. Abadie has over 10 years of education and experience in communication, learning, and instructional theory, a bachelor’s degree in middle grades mathematics education, certification in grades 5–12, an ESOL endorsement, a master’s degree in mathematics and statistics, a master’s degree in instructional design and technology, and a doctorate in instructional design and technology from the University of West Florida in 2023. Staff credentials also include Florida Certified Teachers providing homeschool curriculum support in all subjects for grades K–8.
Mrs. Shehan has a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama, with endorsements in Reading and ESOL, and over ten years of experience in teaching kindergarten. Mrs. Carden earned a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Middle Grades Education in Math from Mercer University, and has experience teaching 7th and 8th grade Pre-Algebra and Algebra I, as well as 12 years teaching remedial math, College Algebra, and Statistics at the college level. Mrs. Wesson has been a teacher for over 20 years, has a degree in elementary education from Florida International University, a master’s degree in reading education from the University of West Florida (2004), Florida Certification in elementary education grades 1–6 and reading education grades K–12, an endorsement in ESOL, National Boards Certification (attained in 2007 and renewed in 2017), and a graduate level certification in dyslexia accredited by the International Dyslexia Association from the University of Florida in 2025. Mrs. Skaggs is a graduate of Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, has a master’s in Social Sciences and Reading, held a certificate in Reading Recovery and Dyslexia, has a Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education Grades 1–6, and taught for 29 years including roles as third grade teacher, sixth grade teacher, and Reading Specialist. Mrs. Burnett has 24 years of teaching experience in elementary education, a bachelor’s in Elementary Education, and a master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University.
Abadie Academy states that it aims to connect students to the community while empowering parents and teachers. It states that teachers are life-long learners passionate about teaching the whole child and that, to inspire a love of learning, they connect with students and elevate their dreams while inspiring their curiosity.
