Handwriting Solutions offers individualized, one-on-one handwriting tutoring using a virtual one-on-one method. The program provides targeted handwriting assessment along with ongoing handwriting, reading, and spelling tutoring. Tutors use evidence and research-based remediation techniques and collaborate with a child’s teacher and other team members as educational consultants.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Based on assessment results, families can book individualized sessions on a monthly subscription basis.
Handwriting Solutions provides certified virtual tutors who are highly qualified and trained, with backgrounds in occupational therapy and education. Services are available from kindergarten through high school and use proven strategies in a creative yet rigorous way with an individualized, strengths-based, and holistic approach. The program offers a thorough handwriting assessment with a written report and follow-up interview; these assessments are not for diagnostic purposes but are used to develop individualized treatment intervention to support literacy success, and reports can be provided to a diagnostician or pediatrician to aid in determining a diagnosis. Handwriting Solutions does not provide occupational therapy services but will provide a referral if more intensive, skilled services are needed.
The founder, Kelli Fetter, is a Certified Handwriting Specialist, Founder and Handwriting Assessment Specialist, and has practiced occupational therapy for more than 10 years. She has experience in pediatrics and specific training in learning disorders, as well as in curriculums such as Handwriting Without Tears, Size Matters Program, and Because Neatness Matters. Handwriting Solutions is an approved provider for Neurodiversity Resource of the Panhandle.
The program’s mission is to help children become capable and confident in expressing their thoughts in writing, and its vision is to be a go-to resource when learning is hard for parents and teachers who want to feel empowered and knowledgeable in helping students as lifelong writers. Community involvement includes The Handwriting Collaborative, where Kelli Fetter serves as a board member; Neurodiversity Resource of the Panhandle, where Handwriting Solutions is an approved provider and Kelli Fetter serves on the board; and partnerships with DyslexiaRx to serve families with children with dyslexia and Inclusiveology to serve schools promoting inclusion practices in educational settings.
One parent shared, “My son has autism and his handwriting is not the best, after working with Kelli for the last month I can totally see an improvement on his handwriting, plus he loves working with her, he said is so much fun, so Thank you Mrs Kelli for your help!”
