Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties offers a Summer Program and a School Year Program for ages 6-18. The summer program runs June 1 through July 31, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the summer program includes meals, with hot meals and breakfast options listed; Newtown Estates, Roy McBean, and Louis and Gloria Boys & Girls Clubs also provide dinner.

About the provider

The organization has operated since 1970. Boys & Girls Clubs of America honored Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties with the National Safety Committee of the Year Award. Its mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. It provides out-of-school time and summer programs to thousands of youth in Sarasota, Venice, North Port, and Arcadia, and six Club locations are listed in Arcadia, North Port, Sarasota, and Venice.

All staff members undergo background checks at the local, state, and national levels. Staff receive ongoing training in youth development and safety protocols. The organization conducts annual safety assessments and maintains a confidential safety hotline. All staff are mandatory reporters. The summer and school-year programs are separate, so families need to register specifically for summer even if their child attends during the academic year.
