Child Protection Center offers Personal Safety & Community Awareness (PSCA), Child Protection Team (CPT), Children & Families Supervised Visitation Program (CFSVP), Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (SATP), Kid Kindness Program (KKP), Hanna’s Hope, and P.A.W.S. (Pet Advocates Working in the Suncoast). The program provides child abuse prevention education to children, parents, and professionals; evaluates allegations of abuse and gives recommendations for interventions; offers supervised visitation; provides specialized therapy for children who have experienced sexual or physical abuse; and uses dog-assisted therapy to help children feel calm and secure.
Programs
- Personal Safety & Community Awareness (PSCA) — Child abuse prevention education to children, parents, and professionals in Sarasota County since 1992.
- Child Protection Team (CPT) — Evaluates allegations of abuse and provides recommendations for interventions to protect children.
- Children & Families Supervised Visitation Program (CFSVP) — Provides a safe, neutral environment for children to maintain a relationship with a non-custodial caregiver.
- Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) — Specialized therapy to children who have experienced sexual or physical abuse.
- Kid Kindness Program (KKP) — Specialized therapy to address sexual behavior problems and early indications of aggression in children.
- Hanna’s Hope — Brings mental health support to adult survivors of child abuse.
- P.A.W.S. (Pet Advocates Working in the Suncoast) — Animal-assisted therapy that utilizes dogs to help children feel calm and secure.

About the provider
Child Protection Center has provided services since 1980. Its mission is the Prevention, Intervention, & Treatment of Child Abuse. It is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance, was previously named Nonprofit of the Year by both the Sarasota and Venice Chambers of Commerce, and was a Best of Florida Winner of 2025. The organization serves Sarasota and DeSoto Counties through three locations, including North Port.
