Sarasota Youth Opera Summer Camp

Sarasota Youth Opera Summer Camp includes singing, acting, physical comedy, and opera appreciation. Campers work with sets, props, wigs, make-up, and costumes, and they take part in opera production by performing on a stage and working behind the scenes. The camp is described as a summer camp experience like no other where campers experience and study the many facets of opera, and it is designed for all skill levels with no audition required.

• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Weekday sessions in June, with an ages 8 to 10 session from June 8–19 and an ages 11 to 18 session from June 8–26, including options for early drop off and late pick up
• Price: Ages 8 to 10 session June 8–19: $350; Ages 11 to 18 session June 8–26: $525; Early Drop Off: $25 per week; Late Pick Up: $25 per week; Early Drop Off & Late Pick Up: $40 per week

The camp runs under the direction of Sarasota Opera’s professional artistic and production staff, with sessions led by industry artists, directors, musicians, and technicians. Sarasota Opera’s mission is to produce impassioned opera performances true to the vision of the composer, to entertain, enrich, educate, and inspire a life-long love of opera in its diverse and growing communities. Camp videos are available from the Final Presentation 2019 for Session 2 and Combined Session Campers, as well as for the 2019 three-week campers.
