About the provider
Sarasota Academy of the Arts has been operating since 2013. The principal is Dr. Jodi Kopacz. The school’s mission is to provide a motivating, challenging, and creative learning climate with a safe, caring, family atmosphere. Parents or a family member are expected to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours during the school year, and single-parent families are expected to volunteer a minimum of 5 hours; attending PTO meetings counts toward this requirement when applicable.
Enrollment capacity is 232 students. K-3 capacity is 72 and 4th-8th capacity is 160. Kindergarten through 8th grade classes conform to the Florida Class Size Amendment. Maximum class size is 18 students in Kindergarten thru 3rd grade and 18-22 in other classes. Initial enrollment period for the 2026-27 school year runs from January 8, 2027 to February 26, 2027. New applicants enter a lottery if classes exceed maximum size. SAA does not discriminate in admissions or enrollment practices regarding student race, religion, ethnicity or sexual preference.
