The Early Learning Program serves children 12 months of age through Pre-K, the VPK Program serves children who are 4 years old on or before September 1st, and the Lower Elementary Program serves Kindergarten through 2nd grade. The school uses a Frog Street Curriculum designed to foster cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development, and offers child screenings and assessments in the Early Learning and VPK Programs. Lower Elementary uses a connection, play-based model using the DIR Floortime® Model and has small class sizes for individualized learning. The school also offers a Limitless PossAbilities Scholarship Fund to provide scholarships for parents of neurodiverse children.
Teachers in the Early Learning and Lower Elementary Programs are trained in the DIR Floortime® Model, and all Lower Elementary teachers (K–2) are state-certified professionals. VPK teachers are described as highly trained and experienced, and teacher assistants are required to have at least a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, with a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field preferred. The Program Director, Dr. Janine Stewart, is DIR Floortime® Certified, and the leadership team also includes Program Assistant Brandi Murphy and VP of Development Maria Shorkey.
Easterseals Florida states that it is leading the way to variety, acceptance, and access through direct and life-changing disability and community services, and that it offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life’s challenges and achieve personal goals.
