Club SciKidz Treasure Coast & Palm Beaches offers STEM enrichment programs and themed STEM summer camps for children in grades PK–7th in its Treasure Coast and West Palm Beach service area, and its science programs are designed to meet the needs of children ages 4–14. Each summer, the program offers three STEM activities per day, with lessons based on Florida and National Science Education Standards that often include language arts, history, and mathematical concepts. The STEM curriculum features hands-on experiments and projects, and each unit is researched by science educators with the help of teachers and children.
Club SciKidz was established in 1997, and since 1997 more than 100,000 children have attended one or more of its science day camps or school programs. The Treasure Coast program is owned by Bob and Sue Hagan, who have a combined 30-plus years of teaching experience and both hold a master’s degree in education, and by franchise owners Lynn and Anthony Mancini, who received their master’s degrees in education and have been franchise owners since the spring of 2023. Club SciKidz Treasure Coast is officially accredited by STEM.org and describes itself as “Fun, Safe & Scientific!” and a “Top Choice for STEM Summer Camps in Vero Beach, Stuart, Jupiter, and West Palm Beach.”
The program states that its science programs introduce elementary school students to science through hands-on and “mind-on” experiments and interactive make-and-take projects, and that activities emphasize a child’s natural curiosity and make learning fun. It offers extended day programs for working parents and uses drop-off and pick-up check-in via the Club SciKidz App so that parents control who picks up their child. The program also notes that campers have the opportunity to gain skills in social interactions and play activities.
Club SciKidz Treasure Coast & Palm Beaches reports that it is looking for certified teachers, college students, and outstanding high school seniors to work at its summer camps in Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Jupiter, Vero Beach, and West Palm Beach. Parent testimonials describe the camp as having fun activities, kind and caring staff, teenagers and young adults who facilitated activities, a safe environment, and organized and well-run sessions, and note that children enjoyed the variety of activities, experiments, and interaction with other kids and counselors. Several parents state that it was their favorite camp of the summer or their favorite among multiple camps attended, and one parent mentions being impressed on their first time with the program and enjoying getting to know the teachers and director.
