About

Habersham Community Theater Summer Performance Camp focuses on live theatre and includes drama, comedy, musicals, dinner theater, readers’ theater, children’s productions, art exhibits, special events, concerts, and presentations of one-act plays by the drama departments of the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy and Habersham Central High School. The camp also includes teaching production skills such as costumes, sets, lights, and sound, with a show specifically chosen for youth performers’ enjoyment and growth as performers.

Habersham Community Theater has been offering artistic performances since 1982. The camp is led by Director Eva St. Clair and Assistant Director Adam Wiley. Habersham Community Theater states that its mission is to provide live entertainment, to offer opportunities for personal growth through use of creative talents in drama, music, art, and dance, to contribute to the cultural enrichment of the community, and to share emotions that enrich perceptions of life and understanding of others. Habersham Community Theater is a member of the American Association of Community Theatre, Association of Performing Arts Professionals, League of Historic American Theatres, Georgia Presenters, Georgia Theatre Conference, Georgia Council of the Arts, Habersham Chamber of Commerce, and Clarkesville Business & Community Association, and it sponsors presentations of one-act plays by the drama departments of the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy and Habersham Central High School.
