Growing Room Before & After School Care is part of Growing Room’s school-age programs, which offer safe, structured spaces for children before and after the school day. The program is supported by a carefully planned childcare curriculum that includes language development in a vivid, print-rich environment and the study of math, science, social studies, phonics, sign language, art, music, self-help skills, emotional growth, and character education. Children in this program are part of a larger center that also offers extracurricular enrichment and Summer Camp with themed activities, arts, and outdoor fun.

Growing Room Before & After School Care operates within a childcare system that has been in operation since the first Growing Room opened in 1989, with the franchise system launching in 2007 and now including 11 childcare centers in four states serving more than 1,700 students. Trained staff members provide daycare while caring for each child’s individual needs, and experienced educators serve as teachers in the classrooms. The program is part of Growing Room Child Development Centers, whose mission states that they provide licensed facilities for children of all ages in a loving and nurturing daycare environment. Growing Room’s founder, Sheree Mitchell, is a pediatric nurse and has been recognized as both Georgia Small Business Person of the Year and U.S. Small Business Person of the Year.
