About
Kids Law Enforcement Academy (KLEA) Summer Camp is a three-day summer camp that includes a K-9 demonstration, a jail tour, and law enforcement-themed games and activities. The camp gives participants a behind-the-scenes look at how the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office serves and protects Douglas County through hands-on activities with real deputies. It is targeted to upcoming 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students.

• Price: This program is completely FREE to participants.
The camp runs Wednesday, July 15 through Friday, July 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. The Kids Law Enforcement Academy Summer Camp is connected with the SCOPE (Sheriff’s Community Outreach Programs and Education) division, which is described as a lifeline for the community that bridges the gap between law enforcement and citizens through education, outreach, and engagement. The leadership team includes Sheriff Tim Pounds and Nicole Moulterie as the contact for the Kids Law Enforcement Academy Summer Camp.
