Discovery Zone Kids offers activities such as Art & Craft, Music & Movement, Everyday Living, Language, pretend playing, phonological awareness activities, homework help, and summer camp activities using ten fun filled thematic units. Each classroom includes an area for everyday living where children use dress-up clothes and household items for pretend play, and the entire facility uses age appropriate thematic activities to engage children in learning. Young children do art several times a week, preschoolers have daily art activities, and music is integrated into many lessons throughout the day as children move with music, learn songs, and build vocabulary.

• Schedule: Daycare is offered Monday–Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with tours available Monday–Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
There are blocks and books available for infants, and many phonological awareness activities are offered in large group, small group, and individual settings for other children. Children under 13 are served under the daycare during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and they are escorted in and out of the classroom and the facility and supervised in the classroom and on the playground. Age appropriate structure is provided, and staff communicate with parents regularly about planned activities, policies, and procedures. Meals are provided.
Discovery Zone Kids uses the “Learn Everyday” curriculum for daycare children and the “We Can” curriculum for PreK children, and both are hands-on curriculums that support the “Learn and Play” philosophy. For school-age children, the program includes homework help and additional help as needed during the school year, and summer camp includes activities based on ten fun filled thematic units. The mission of Discovery Zone Kids is to promote early learning through hands-on fun and engaging activities, to follow a “Play and Learn” philosophy, and to keep children safe and clean as a priority.
Discovery Zone Kids is registered in Georgia and opened in October 2014. The director, Jayshri Soni, has owned and operated a tutoring company focused on supplemental education services under the No Child Left Behind Act for nine years and has served over 3,000 students through tutoring during those nine years. She was a certified science teacher in McCormick, South Carolina, holds a Master of Science degree and a teaching certificate to teach all sciences, and has been nominated for the Presidential Award in Teaching of Math and Sciences and for inclusion in Who’s Who of American Women in the 2007–2008 edition. She is pursuing her goal of reintroducing the “learn while you play” approach to childcare for all ages at Discovery Zone Kids.
Qualified, dedicated, and certified teachers, along with teacher-aides, provide foundations for children in language, literacy, math, science, art, music, physical development, and social concepts. One grandparent described the facility as clean and laid out well, with staff who used appropriate security procedures and kept hand sanitizer and tissues readily available. Another parent noted that teachers were friendly and caring, that the director, Ms. Soni, responded quickly to concerns, and that meals and snacks being provided reduced the need to pack food each day. Other parents reported that staff greeted families by name, resolved any issues in a professional and caring way, and that teachers were knowledgeable and attentive for both preschool and school-age children.
