About

4-H Tidelands Nature Center offers coastal ecology programs for the public and for school groups. The program includes guided kayak tours, canoe rentals, and hands-on environmental education programs about coastal ecology. It also features an exhibit gallery with live coastal species and other live animals native to the Georgia coast.

• Ages: 5–18 years old

Tidelands is part of the Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program network of locations from the mountains to the sea. In keeping with Georgia 4-H Environmental Education program objectives, Tidelands strives to develop an awareness, knowledge, and appreciation for the environment, as it connects participants with Georgia’s coastal ecosystems. Tidelands is described as one of Jekyll’s hidden treasures and offers coastal ecology programs for the public and school groups.
