About
The Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program offers day and overnight educational experiences that teach science in the context of the environment. The program uses the outdoors as a classroom without walls or boundaries and also complements math, history, and language arts lessons. These experiences take place at six 4-H facilities that range from the mountains to the sea, including Wahsega, Fortson, Rock Eagle, Burton, 4-H Tidelands Nature Center, and Georgia 4-H at Camp Jekyll.
Since 1979, the Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program has provided a network of high-quality day and overnight educational experiences. The program is part of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, which is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action organization. The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, working cooperatively with Fort Valley State University, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the counties of Georgia, offers its educational programs, assistance, and materials to all people without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, or protected veteran status.
