Clayton County Parks & Recreation Youth Programs offers activities such as Fundamentals of Volleyball, Parents Night Out May Series, an After School Enrichment Program, 2026 Lifeguard Certification Classes, and Pilates in the Park. • Schedule: Options include weekly after-school sessions on weekdays from 2:30–6:00 PM starting August 18th, evening volleyball on Mondays from 5:00–6:00 PM, Friday evening Parents Night Out sessions in May 2026 from 6:00–9:00 PM, multiple 3-day lifeguard certification class series on select weekends in 2026, and a one-hour Pilates in the Park session on a Saturday morning.
• Price: Fundamentals of Volleyball: Residents $50, Non-Residents $80; Parents Night Out May Series: $20 per child; After School Enrichment Program: $50 per week; 2026 Lifeguard Certification Classes: $90 for participants interested in applying for a Clayton County Parks and Recreation lifeguard job and $150 for participants only interested in becoming certified.
Clayton County Athletics staff and volunteers follow industry best practices in the management of youth sports programs, including compulsory sport-specific, on-court or on-field training and relevant national coaching certification. Clayton County Athletics is committed to minimizing children’s exposure to danger, harm, or loss, including protecting youth from environmental threats, ensuring equipment and facilities are safe and fully operational, and thoroughly screening all youth sports volunteers for criminal history. Clayton County Athletics also fosters a positive culture through regularly mandated orientation of volunteers, parents, and program participants. Pilates in the Park is a free event open to individuals 18 and up, and participants are instructed to bring a mat and water. Lifeguard Certification Classes require a 300-meter swim, 2 minutes of treading water without arms, and a timed 10-pound brick test; participants must be at least 15 years old to get certified and 16 years old to apply for a lifeguard job with Parks and Recreation, and must attend all 3 days in a series to complete the certification.
