About
ArtsKSU Summer Arts Programs include specific activities in dance, theatre, visual art and design, and music. Dance students take modern, ballet, African, jazz, and tap dance classes, along with improvisation and repertory classes, and the week ends with a final performance at the KSU Dance Theater. Theatre students choose from an Acting concentration, a Musical Theatre concentration, or a Theatre Design and Technology concentration, and these concentrations come together for a performance showcase at the end of the week. Art and design students can take Multimedia Stop-Motion, 3D Digital Modeling and Character Development, Original Character Design, Creature Design and Scientific Illustration, and Basic Patternmaking and Construction in Textile Design, with all Art Summer Intensives held in the Textile Building on the Marietta Campus. Music students can attend Summer Jazz Camp or Summer Concert Band Camp, which include rehearsals, sectionals, masterclasses, and a final performance celebrating the week’s accomplishments. Each evening, students take part in special planned activities.
