Code Ninjas states that it turns screen time into skill time and that coding is just the beginning, with a focus on developing the next generation of problem solvers, creators, and leaders. The program notes that it provides a safe and welcoming learning environment for kids outside of school.

Code Ninjas highlights several unique features, including an Outcome-Based Learning approach that sets clear learning goals and designs activities and assessments around those goals. Its curriculum is developed with creation in mind so that students can express their imagination, experiment with new ideas, and have a sense of ownership and control over their creations. Code Ninjas is described as the world’s largest and fastest-growing kids' coding franchise, with hundreds of locations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

The program uses IMPACT, a proprietary learning platform that is designed to give Ninjas a tailored learning track through Belts, provide live feedback on their progress, and help develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and logical reasoning skills. Code Ninjas also offers the Prodigy Program, which gives selected Ninjas the chance to interact with leaders from major technology and gaming companies, visit notable headquarters, and explore career paths related to coding. Winning Ninjas in this program visited Microsoft’s headquarters in Seattle, including Microsoft’s Garage, and met with teams such as Microsoft Minecraft, Microsoft MakeCode, XBOX, Bing, and AI.

Code Ninjas has received the ISTE Seal of Approval. One community member stated that they have been blown away by the positive impact Code Ninjas has had on children in the community, noting that the kids are learning technical skills along with problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Parents report that their children enjoy Code Ninjas, are excited to show what they made, and have participated in events such as Parent’s Night Out. Multiple parents mention that their children love the program, enjoy coding their own games, and appreciate the friendly teachers and staff.
