About

Code Ninjas offers hands-on activities in coding, robotics, AI, and game building. Kids work on projects such as building video games, debugging code, and creating apps or websites to solve local problems. Learning takes place in a dedicated environment called the Dojo, with guidance from a team of Code Senseis who are described as experienced instructors.

• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Class times are available Tuesday through Friday from 3:00PM to 7:00PM, and on Saturday from 9:30AM to 3:00PM

The program states that in its Dojos, kids do not just learn coding but also gain creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, AI, robotics, STEM, and game building skills in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment. Code Ninjas describes itself as the world’s largest and fastest-growing kids’ coding franchise, with hundreds of locations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The organization is led by CEO Navin Gurnaney. Code Ninjas has received the International Society for Technology in Education Seal of Approval and states that it is the only coding school with this recognition.

Code Ninjas uses a proprietary learning platform called IMPACT, which is described as an engaging platform that gives Ninjas a tailored learning track through Belts, live feedback on their progress, and experience with the real coding process. IMPACT is described as helping develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and logical reasoning skills. The Code Ninjas Prodigy Program offers participants the chance to interact with leaders from major technology and gaming companies, visit notable headquarters, and explore different career paths related to coding; winning Ninjas have visited Microsoft’s headquarters in Seattle, including Microsoft’s Garage, and met with teams such as Microsoft Minecraft, Microsoft MakeCode, XBOX, Bing, and AI.

The program states that it strives to have a positive relationship with the community by providing a safe and welcoming learning environment for kids outside of school and by encouraging students to create apps or websites to solve local problems. Parent testimonials describe children enjoying the program, being excited to show what they made, and leaving with a smile, and they mention friendly teachers, excellent staff, and children who are eager to code and share what they have learned.
