About

City Springs Theatre Conservatory Pre-Professional Company is an audition-based program where students train in dance, voice, and acting. Training includes musical theatre jazz combination, ballet exercise, and tap skill, along with vocal and acting work. Auditions include a vocal audition with two contrasting 32-bar songs, one of which must be a pre-1965 Golden Age song, and a dance audition including musical theatre jazz, ballet, and tap.

• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Schedule: Audition-based, year-round program taking place September–May of the school year
• Price: Tuition is paid on the first of every month September through May; Junior Company: $300/mo, Senior Company: $400/mo

This program is part of City Springs Theatre Company, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The mission of the Pre-Professional Company is to provide students with rigorous, weekly training to prepare them for a career in the arts and beyond. Space is limited, all students must audition, and no spots are guaranteed. Students are placed in training classes based on talent level, experience, age, maturity, and professionalism, and are led by highly qualified and top industry professionals with extensive years of teaching and performing. Students are given a suggested tap level and are invited to attend tap on Wednesdays at no extra cost, and private lessons are not part of the company, but it is strongly recommended that students are consistently taking voice lessons while they are training in Pre-Pro. The year includes a final performance opportunity at the end of the year showcasing the growth of the students over the course of the year.

Middle school audition dates are Monday May 4, 2026 from 5:00pm–9:00pm and Thursday May 14, 2026 from 5:00pm–9:00pm. Audition guidelines specify bringing a headshot, resume, and sheet music with cuts marked and in the right key, along with a water bottle. The dress code for the dance audition is all black athletic attire, with jazz shoes, ballet shoes, or character heels if available, and tap shoes if available, though tap shoes are not required.
