River Trails Junior Tennis Programs offers Junior Lessons for ages 4-18, with group and private lessons for kids of all ages and experience levels, from tots to national-level junior tournament players. The program includes Tiny Tots activities with and without racquets, Red 1 fun drills and point play, Red 2 for more advanced 8-and-under players, Orange 1 on the 60-foot court with a low-compression orange ball, Orange 2 for more advanced 10-and-under players, Middle School Training with green dot transition balls, and Future Stars with green or yellow balls.

- Tiny Tots — ages 4-6 · Tuesday 4:30-5:30pm; Saturday 12:00-1:00pm; Sunday 2:00-3:00pm · $293 per session · Activities with and without racquets to develop agility, balance, and coordination.
- Red 1 — ages 7-8 · Tuesday 4:30-5:30pm; Thursday 4:30-5:30pm; Saturday 1:00-2:00pm; Sunday 2:00-3:00pm · $293 per session · Learn to rally through fun drills and point play.
- Red 2 — advanced 8 and under · Thursday 4:30-5:30pm; Saturday 1:00-2:00pm; Sunday 3:00-4:00pm · $293 per session · For more advanced 8 & under players who are competent with all strokes and can play matches.
- Orange 1 — ages 8-10 · Monday 6:00-7:00pm; Thursday 4:30-5:30pm; Saturday 1:00-2:00pm; Sunday 3:00-4:00pm · $256–$293 per session · Uses the 60’ court and a low-compression orange ball.
- Orange 2 — advanced 10 and under · Wednesday 6:00-7:30pm; Saturday 10:30am-12:00pm; Sunday 12:00-1:30pm · $439–$504 per session · For more advanced 10 & under players who are competent with all strokes and can execute basic strategies.
- Middle School Training — ages 11-14 · Monday 6:00-7:00pm; Thursday 5:30-6:30pm; Saturday 4:00-5:00pm; Sunday 4:00-5:00pm · $256–$336 per session · Uses green dot transition balls to improve faster.
- Future Stars — Middle School and Orange 2 graduates · Wednesday 6:00-7:30pm; Sunday 11:00am-12:30pm; Tuesday 6:00-7:30am; Thursday 5:00-6:30pm; Saturday 2:00-3:30pm · $439–$504 per session · Future Stars I uses green balls and Future Stars II uses yellow balls to improve footwork, technique and strategy.
- High School Training — high school players · Monday 7:30-9:00pm; Wednesday 7:30-9:00pm; Thursday 5:00-6:30pm; Saturday 3:30-5:00pm; Sunday 12:30-2:00pm · $384–$504 per session · Prepares players for competing on high school teams and in USTA tournaments.
- Junior Academy — Designed for aspiring young players looking for consistent competition and next-level skills as they work toward competitive excellence.
- Tennis Camps — junior players · Periodic camps for junior players throughout the year at all ability levels.

About the provider
River Trails has been a home to Chicago tennis enthusiasts for over 50 years and first opened in 1971. Its mission is to foster an environment of learning, camaraderie and health through the game of tennis. The club is described as The Players’ Club and a premier tennis center in the Chicago suburbs, and it hosts 80+ USTA teams.

If you sign up for a full session of a class, you’ll have a permanent spot. Missed classes are handled according to the Make-Up Policy. Absences must be reported to the Front Desk at least 2 hours in advance to be eligible for a make-up. Make-ups must be pre-arranged, are not guaranteed, and must be completed in the same session except for classes missed in the last 2 weeks of the session. Athletic gear is appropriate; non-marking shoes only; no chewing gum on courts; water and sports drinks in closed containers only; no coffee or food on the courts.
