Summer Climbing Camp focuses on climbing throughout the day and includes learning basic safety, movement, and knot tying. The program also includes both large group activities and small group activities. All climbing gear, including harness and shoes, is provided, and students bring their own snacks and lunch.
• Ages: 7–14 years old
• Schedule: Single-week sessions, Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–3:00 pm, from June 15–August 14
• Price: Full Week Pricing MEMBER $500, GUEST $550
The program maintains a 6:1 student–instructor ratio and offers spots for all climbing levels. Seasoned counselors lead activities in both large and small groups. First Ascent’s mission is to share a love of climbing with everyone, connect people through movement, and create welcoming, uplifting spaces that strengthen minds, bodies, and communities. First Ascent reports multiple community efforts, including donating hundreds of in-kind climbing packages to local school and nonprofit fundraisers, hosting the Savannah Buik Memorial Climbathon and the Paradox Mile fundraisers, organizing a Hurricane Relief Craft Fair for Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, eliminating single-use plastic water bottles across its facilities, launching an after-school climbing program with the Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club in Uptown, supporting Girls In The Game with a No Man’s Land Film Festival screening, and hosting a Neighbor Support resource drive that sent 12 car loads of food and supplies and $3,500 to pop-up pantries.
