Wheatland Wizards Travel Basketball is the elite basketball program of the Wheatland Athletic Association and focuses on basketball through Wizards Travel Basketball, basketball camps, basketball clinics, basketball training, and Recreational Leagues. The program is committed to teaching and enhancing the skills and fundamentals of basketball, encouraging player physical fitness and mental quickness, developing character in young athletes, and promoting a true love of the game of basketball. All programs hold tryouts three times a year for year-round training and competition, and the program welcomes all athletes to try out, including athletes involved in multiple sports and activities who want to continue to develop competitively in basketball.

The Wheatland Wizards Travel Basketball program places high emphasis on training and practice time throughout the year while balancing hard work and fun, and focuses on player development and implementing fundamentals in game settings. Preparation and execution are key and are the focus of skill development training, with the objective of developing each basketball player into an exceptional high school basketball player through education, skill development, and appropriate competition. Player development training is included for all players to master the fundamentals of basketball, increase physical fitness, and develop mental quickness, using a mix of high quality skills training, proper game preparation and strategy, and the proper level of competition.
The Wheatland Athletic Association, Inc. (WAA) is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation established in 1977 to provide youth athletic programs in the Aurora/Naperville IL area and offers basketball programs for all ages and abilities including Recreational Leagues, Camps & Clinics, and Wizards Travel Basketball. WAA has over 12,000 annual registrants in numerous programs for youth aged 18 months to 18 years old, as well as adult programs. The WAA board of directors is staffed with volunteers from the community, and its full-time office staff is available for questions related to basketball programs.
The overall WAA mission is to provide quality athletic opportunities and experiences that enhance a sense of community, and provide a fun and safe environment for volunteers, families and participants of all ages and abilities. At the Wheatland Wizards, the stated focus is on player training, development and mentoring that empowers athletes to achieve their fullest potential both on and off the court.
The Wheatland Wizards Travel Basketball program is led by Duncan Ward, Director of the Wizards program, who has been coaching, training and mentoring staff and players for over 10 years, and is supported by highly qualified trainers and coaches. Brian Smith is listed as a contact person for the program. The program notes local, regional and national achievements that include 16 state titles, 5 regional titles, and 1 national title.
