About

Wheatland Wizards Travel Basketball is the elite basketball program of the Wheatland Athletic Association. The program focuses on basketball through travel basketball teams, basketball camps, basketball clinics, basketball training, and recreational basketball leagues. Player development training is included for all players to work on the fundamentals of basketball, physical fitness, and mental quickness.

The Wheatland Wizards Travel Basketball program is a high level basketball program with highly qualified trainers and coaches. All programs hold tryouts three times a year for year-round training and competition, with a high emphasis on training and practice time throughout the year while also including fun. The program welcomes athletes who are involved in multiple sports and activities. The Wheatland Athletic Association offers basketball programs for all ages and abilities, including recreational leagues, camps and clinics, and Wizards Travel Basketball, and has over 12,000 annual registrants in programs for youth aged 18 months to 18 years old, as well as adult programs.

The Wheatland Wizards program is led by Duncan Ward, Director of the Wizards program, who has been coaching, training, and mentoring staff and players for over 10 years. The Wheatland Athletic Association, Inc. is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation established in 1977, with a board of directors staffed by volunteers from the Aurora/Naperville community. The overall WAA mission is to provide quality athletic opportunities and experiences that enhance a sense of community and to provide a fun and safe environment for volunteers, families, and participants of all ages and abilities. At Wheatland Wizards, the stated focus is on player training, development, and mentoring that supports athletes in reaching their fullest potential both on and off the court. The program lists local, regional, and national achievements, including 16 state titles, 5 regional titles, and 1 national title.
