Ray McElroy Pro Football Youth Camps
Eastern Illinois University, Grant Ave & 4th Street, Charleston, IL 61920
About
Ray McElroy Pro Football Youth Camps combines on-the-field drills with off-the-field skills. The program’s stated goal is to develop a well-rounded student-athlete by using both types of activities during camp sessions.
• Schedule: Central Illinois Camp June 27–28, 2025, with sessions from 8:00am–2:00pm; Chicago Camp with sessions from 9:00am–3:00pm (date TBA)
• Price: Cost: Free (Central Illinois Camp and Chicago Camp)
Youth at Ray McElroy Pro Football Youth Camps interact with former NFL players and men of character who serve as coaches and mentors. Each camp has a different format and age requirement to fit the needs of the local community. The program is led by Ray McElroy, associate pastor of teaching and outreach at Central Christian Church in Beloit, and Michelle McElroy, Director of Cross-Cultural Integration at the same church. Ray and Michelle have been serving youth and young adults since 2008, and in 2012 they created A Ray of Hope on Earth as a 501c3 non-profit organization. A testimonial from a participant highlights the staff’s will to make kids do better and notes that many children do not get that at home, describing the mentoring as an excellent opportunity for them. The organization also hosts a Celebrity Golf Invitational on August 4, 2025, with all proceeds benefiting A Ray of Hope on Earth, and invites others to make a difference in an under-served, under-privileged community by partnering with them.
