About
Camp One Step provides free year-round camp experiences for kids with cancer and their families. The program offers both in-person and digital camps for kids with cancer who are newly diagnosed, in treatment, or in remission, as well as for their siblings and parents. Inclusion, accessibility, connections, and empowerment are core to the program’s mission.

Camp One Step has more than 45 years of experience and has served over 20,000 campers. The organization’s mission statement is that it provides free year-round camp experiences for kids with cancer and their families that foster joy, belonging, confidence, and lifelong friendships. The program is supported by over 400 volunteers who donate their time. Camp One Step offers a Camp One Step Heroes program for returning campers ages 5 and older. The leadership team includes Devin Ryan-Holanda, Vice President of Camps & Experiences; Jessica Hopper, Director of Camps & Experiences; Lucy Burzynski and Madeline Brown, Managers of Camps & Experiences; Susie Burke, Medical Director; Erin Senft, Medical Manager; and a philanthropy team led by Vice President of Philanthropy Paige Hoesley, along with Jill Kulbok Carlson, Tara Bond, and Hannah Smith-Davis. Corporate partners support Camp One Step through financial support, funding camps or programs, sponsoring events such as the Camp is Gold Gala, Charity Poker Championship, and golf outings, hosting supply drives using an Amazon Wish List, offering employee matching gift programs, inviting Camp One Step to present at their offices, and sharing information in newsletters and on social media. The program describes itself with the phrase “Camp Isn’t a Place, It’s a Community.”
