Youth Programs at the Alliance Française de Chicago include youth classes and a French immersion preschool. French classes are offered year-round across all levels, with options for eight-week sessions and four-week classes. All classes are conducted in French with an emphasis on active participation and communication, and are separated into seven distinct levels based on the CEFR scale.

All teachers are native or bilingual French speakers and are certified to teach French as a second language. The Alliance Française de Chicago has been in existence since 1897. It is Illinois’ only official French examination center. The organization also has a library with over 18,000 items, which is the largest private collection of Francophone media in the Midwest. On-site, online, and hybrid class options are available, and private French lessons, corporate French classes, and drop-in classes are also offered at specified hourly rates.
