Chicago Blue Dolphins Swim Studio is described as a one-of-a-kind Swim Studio featuring 2 Endless Pools for precise instruction and endless repetition and refinement, with water temperature set to 90 degrees and small classes in warm pools. The program uses gentle, play-based instruction for babies and toddlers, teaches toddlers to swim on their own without floaties or noodles, and offers targeted, individualized training programs for adults with group, private, and remote training options. Specialized group classes such as deep water skills and open water training are offered at other satellite locations in a pool with a deep end up to 11 feet deep and at open water sites.

Chicago Blue Dolphins built its Swim Studio in 2006. The owner started coaching U.S. Masters Swimming for adults in 2001, began offering swim classes for kids in 2009, and opened the baby swim program in May 2010. The kids swim program grew from a small percentage of the business in 2009 to about 60 percent of the business in 2016. The owner, founder, and head coach is John Fitzpatrick.

The stated core purpose of Chicago Blue Dolphins Swim School is to help people learn and improve their lives through the sport of swimming. Chicago Blue Dolphins’ methods have been featured in The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Tribune Magazine, Chicago Magazine, Chicago Athlete, Windy City Sports, The Chicago Reader, and US Masters Swimmer.
