Connections Learning Center specializes in working with students with ADHD, dyslexia, auditory processing challenges, and more, using highly individualized tutoring and research-validated strategies and programs. The mission of Connections Learning Center is: “We want to help every student who walks through our door to become as independent and successful of a learner as possible.” The director works with each family to tailor learning plans according to each student’s needs.

Connections Learning Center was founded by Debra Gawrys, who worked from home for nine years before moving to the current Beverly location, and the center was founded almost ten years ago relative to the time of writing. Leadership includes founder Debra Gawrys and new owner Syreeta Moore. Staff at Connections Learning Center include highly trained clinicians, accredited teachers, an expert clinician, and a skilled educator with decades of experience who holds a B.A. in Education and a Master’s degree in Learning Disabilities from St. Xavier University.

Parents and teachers have shared that students at Connections Learning Center received attentive, patient, and compassionate support with lessons, tutoring, and the Wilson Reading program, and that some students with dyslexia showed notable reading gains in a short period of time. One parent reported that the director tailored learning plans for two children with processing deficits, ADHD, and dyslexia, and described positive results and increased confidence and independence for a child entering second grade. Another parent described the test prep tutoring as the most helpful they had attended, and a math teacher reported immediate and substantial improvements among students who attended Connections Learning Center, noting the tutors, comfortable environment, and individualized plans that identify causes of learning challenges.
