Dance With Me Productions

Dance With Me Productions offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, African, Tahitian, Hula Dancing, and Modern. The program includes combination classes such as Tippy Toes Ballet & Tap, Sweethearts Ballet & Tap, Dancing Dolls Ballet & Tap, and Primaballerinas 1 Ballet & Tap, with each class meeting for just over an hour.

• Ages: 2–11 years old
• Schedule: Full-year dance curriculum from September to June; individual classes run about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes per session

Dance With Me Productions began in the summer of 2001 as a 12-week summer intensive program that ended with a recital and now offers a full-year curriculum that culminates in an annual recital in June. During the school year, the program performs at select venues and travels to different schools and day cares in the Chicagoland area to teach various dance styles. Dance With Me Productions has a uniform shop where families can get children’s dance wear.

The program was founded by FaChica Mone Austin-Alderson in 2001. She began her own dance training at an early age with Muntu African Dance Theatre and has studied at Joel Hall Dance Center, Hubbard Street Dance Center, ETA Creative Arts Foundation, Deeply Rooted Productions, Sammy Dyer, and Studio One Dance Theatre. Her training includes Hula, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, African, and Tap.

Dance With Me Productions states that it emphasizes creating a positive environment for children to learn and have fun and that it focuses on building confidence, creativity, and community one dancer at a time. The organization describes its mission as going beyond the dance floor, with a commitment to community outreach and charitable initiatives aimed at making a positive difference in the lives of Chicago’s youth.
