About
Happy Kids Preschool & Daycare Center offers play in a safe, loving environment with fun, hands-on learning and engaging activities. Children take part in art projects, field trips, and shows, and Kindergartners have a graduation ceremony with a show and a party. During warm Chicago days, activities include playing with sand and water.
• Ages: 15 months–6 years old
• Schedule: Open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Price: The cost of services is between $36 and $250, depending on the child’s age and the program chosen.
The program enrolls children who are 15 months old to 6 years old at the Irving Park location and 2 to 6 years old at the Belmont location. Children are not required to be potty trained before enrollment, and a small additional fee applies for diaper changing. The program offers part-time and daily rates and takes care of children who are approved for DHS State help, and staff can help in preparing all the forms.
The childcare center is part of the ExceleRate program and fulfills more requirements than regular licensed childcare. Classrooms have video monitoring, doors are equipped with electric locks, and video doorbells are installed so staff can see and hear whoever enters the door. The center is equipped with educational materials, toys, musical instruments, and dress-up clothes, and has large playgrounds used daily by every age group, with slides, sandboxes, tricycles, and outdoor blocks.
Meal service consists of breakfast, a hot lunch, and supper, and meals meet USDA nutrition standards for young children. Meals are described as European and “homemade,” and children receive fresh soups, second courses, salads, fruits, milk, and 100% juices. Thrice a year, there are picture days for Christmas, Parent’s Day, and Grandparent’s Day.
The mission of Happy Kids Preschool & Daycare Center is to aid in the growth and development of students through various age-appropriate programs facilitated by qualified teachers. The program hires well-educated teachers described as warm, patient, and extremely dedicated to their work. All staff are CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified, are required to have FBI and local law enforcement background checks before employment, and are trained in emergency preparedness.
Families receive 2 Parent-Teacher conferences a year. A Childcare App is used for the daily flow of information and daily pictures of children and their preschool activities, and parents are informed of every field trip, conference, and show. Parents are encouraged to like the Facebook page with pictures and videos from the school’s life. Every month, the program either goes on a field trip or invites someone interesting, such as pools, museums, theaters, or firefighters, and they try to show children European traditions and holidays. A new location is coming soon in Streamwood, Illinois. On a child’s first day, families are asked to bring shoes, two changes of clothes, a blanket and pillow for nap, security items, diapers, wipes, ointments, one pack of Kleenex, and one roll of paper towel.
