Children take part in field trips, mobile petting zoos, indoor circus days, dance parties, pizza making days, potato sack races, ice cream socials, parades, and indoor/outdoor movies.
• Ages: 3–14 years old
• Schedule: Open from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Just For Kids Before and After School Program has been serving youth for over 15 years and is celebrating 20 years of keeping school-age youth ages 3–14 safe, engaged, and having fun. The mission of the program is to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing recreational environment where children can choose from a wide variety of activities, sports, games, and field trips, and to introduce and reinforce arts, technology, sports, and academic foundations set by their families while encouraging community service. The staff includes 12 highly talented and experienced educators (both current and retired) and four dedicated volunteers, along with teams of mentors that include a licensed child psychologist and family therapist who are available to provide academic and emotional support when needed, including homework help. The program is a Registered School (Pre-K through Kindergarten) and a Registered School (Kindergarten) by the Illinois State Board of Education and is described as Chicago's Top Rated Local Before & After School Care. The facility retains an active Church component where people from the community can come to worship, and Cassandra’s father, Pastor Elliott Taylor, conducts services in the church within the facility. Just For Kids is described as totally self-contained, with no need to shuttle kids to various sports, lessons, after-school activities, or summer programs, and it operates a fleet of 15 late model passenger vans that are meticulously maintained and driven by professional drivers with at least ten years of experience and spotless driving records, offering door-to-door transportation with double and triple-checking to ensure every child is always accounted for. Quiet, supervised classrooms are available for online school and study, with desks spaced six feet apart, hand sanitizers for each child, and customized Just For Kids face masks, and all meals served while children are present include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and nutritional snacks throughout the day. One parent testimonial states that the child has a great time at Just For Kids, loves the gym programs, and hates to be picked up, and describes it as a blessing for a child to have someplace safe to be without daily worry.
