Sokol USA Lodge 306 Chicago is a Slovak educational, cultural and physical fitness organization specializing in gymnastics classes for neighbors in the community. Sokol USA Lodge 306 Chicago was formed in 1947, has operated out of its current location since 1962, and added the Lodge 306 Museum and Library in 1968. The Lodge 306 Museum and Library, donated by the Dr. George and Ann Matula family, contains thousands of volumes on Czech and Slovak history, culture, and literature, several volumes on Sokol history, and many American classics, as well as museum exhibits honoring Sokol Lodge 306 history, Slovak Heroes of the Past, and the history of the Sokol Slet.
The staff is trained through Sokol Instructors Training Schools and various clinics. The staff is certified by AAU, SafeSport, Positive Coaching Alliance, and is first-aid, CPR, and concussion certified. The organization’s motto is “FITNESS FOR ALL AGES!” and it also offers a hall available for rent.
