Youth Programs at Coal Valley Public Library includes activities such as Eagle Eye Readers Book Club, Manipulation Stations, Agents of the Library, and Tots Together Social Hour. The program also offers Knitting and Crochet Club of Coal Valley, Music & Movement, Little Scientists Storytime, Literary Flavors Cookbook Club, Wee-Littles Art Start, Board + Beyond: Games Club, Teen Art + Audio Club, Little Learners: Stories, Rhymes & Play (Ages 0-3), Puzzlers!, Read to a Dog - Bow Wow with Books!, Creative Crafters, Teen After Hours, and Sensory Saturdays. The library also offers a Library of Things to borrow more than just a book and Attraction Passes to visit area attractions for free.

Food Insecurity Support at the library helps people find local food pantries, community meals, and nutrition programs, and offers resources to get support or to volunteer. Improving Online Health Literacy is a hands-on workshop at the library that focuses on navigating online health information safely and effectively. Teen After Hours happens the Friday at the end of every school quarter and takes place after the doors close to the public. Sensory Saturdays provides various sensory stations for families, and Read to a Dog - Bow Wow with Books! uses therapy animals to help improve children’s reading and communication skills.
