Summer Camp Programs include outdoor fun, hands-on discoveries, hiking excursions, art, and guided hikes. Campers take part in tours of the Gannett Education Center, the Pioneer Homestead Cabin, the Kennekuk Education Center, the Bunker Hill Historic Area buildings, the Neff Grocery Store, the Atwood Home, the Bismarck Train Depot, and the Red Oak School. Some programs feature live music by the Red Bud String Band.

• Price: Sunset Tour at the Boardwalk: $5/person
Summer camp activities are guided by experienced camp counselors. Fees include the listed program, craft materials, and snacks if listed in the program description. Activities requiring special clothing or pre-packed lunches are listed in the program description. Children explore their natural world through hands-on discoveries, hiking excursions, and art. Children gain appreciation and knowledge of wildlife and the great outdoors. Visitors to the Gannett Education Center can learn about Vermilion County plants and animals with displays and exploration tables. The Pioneer Homestead Cabin shows how early settlers lived in Vermilion County, and the Neff Grocery Store, Atwood Home, Bismarck Train Depot, and Red Oak School represent the time period of the 1890s–1940s.
The Vermilion County Conservation District was formed in 1966. The headquarters of the Vermilion County Conservation District are located at Kennekuk County Park. The Vermilion County Conservation District utilizes volunteers to staff buildings at Forest Glen Preserve and Kennekuk County Park. The leadership team includes Jamie Pasquale, Executive Director; Kim Fox, Associate Director of Administration & Personnel; Mike Kotcher, Forest Glen Superintendent; Justus Newman, Forest Glen Foreman; Ruth Howard, Forest Glen Secretary; Lara Darling, Education Supervisor; Brenna Karcher, Environmental Educator; Gary Tyrl, Kennekuk Superintendent; Nick Jeurissen, Land Management/Facilities Repair; Terry Plummer, Park Maintenance 1; and Cole Craft, Lake Vermilion Superintendent.
