Only paid Downers Grove Swim and Racquet Club members are eligible to participate in the tennis programs, and club membership is open to the public, subject to availability. For using the courts before or after pool hours, members can use a key system with a refundable $50 deposit. Tennis-only memberships will be available again for the 2026 season, and after-hours court access is available via key with a refundable deposit. The courts are open from 8am–10pm, and tennis programming such as lessons and leagues takes priority over open play.
Downers Grove Swim and Racquet Club is celebrating 71 years in the community, with the corporation formed on February 19, 1954, and is celebrating its heritage and 71 years in the community in 2025. The club offers competitive tennis teams along with other activities such as recreational swimming, swim lessons, swim team, dive lessons, dive team, water polo, sand volleyball, weekday games, events, special celebrations, and social events. New in 2024 is water polo, and D’Capos operates the Snack Shack, serving Italian favorites and pool snacks.
The tennis programs are led by Tennis Pro Amanda Hanon for 2026. Amanda Hanon is a PTR Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Professional. Amanda has built strong partnerships with schools, park districts, and local communities across the west suburbs, organizes Junior Team Tennis programs and USTA tournaments with the Chicago District Tennis Association, and has expanded Tennis Titans through strategic partnerships with tennis clubs, UTR, and the USTA. The club states a mission of offering a proud heritage and tradition as a private, family-oriented club committed to a welcoming and friendly environment for all members and guests.
