During record-breaking years, SuperCDA camps have hosted over 900 campers, and the organization has offered Private @ Home Camps and choreography services including full routines, unique words sections, and cheer mixes and music. Founder and Executive Director Derek Ramel has a history in Illinois cheer dating back to the 1980s. Ryan became a partner in SuperCDA with the opening of SuperCDA Athletics in 2022 and brought 17 years of experience as the Tumbling Director at IGI. Gina first took part in SuperCAMP in 1998, contributed to the first Super All Star National Championship in 2001, started her career with SuperCDA in 2002, became Associate Director and Co-Director of the Super All Star program in 2006, and became a partner with the opening of SuperCDA Athletics in 2022. Denise’s story with SuperCDA began in 2007, she joined the staff in 2012, and she serves as Facility Manager and Senior Elite coach, and is also a certified esthetician and make-up artist.
Leadership statements describe a focus on kindling a love for the sport, encouraging passion, enthusiasm, confidence, self-belief, and good sportsmanship, and emphasizing a growth mindset and the importance of the process. Additional leadership perspectives highlight a long-term connection to SuperCDA as an athlete, coach, and partner, a commitment to tradition, history, and representation, and an interest in continuing the Super legacy that began when Derek first made his mark in Illinois cheer history in the 1980s. Coaching at the gym is described as enthusiastic, direct, and repetitive, with an emphasis on giving 110% with positive effort and leaving each class with more knowledge and a goal for the next class or team level.
Through DoubleB Entertainment, the broader SuperCDA community services over 200 high school teams with competitive cheer and dance mixes, cheer and dance competitions, sectional invitationals, and music entertainment for both the Cheer and Dance IHSA State Championships. The program notes a Super legacy of innovation in Illinois cheer history, including sport-mindset, unique style, and rubric influences that still exist today, and references a next generation of leadership at SuperCDA Athletics Tumble & Cheer Gym.
